LifeLine
Program
Lifeline is an emergency
alert system. West Country Family Service is proud to be able to
provide this service for seniors and disabled living, in their own
homes in Clearwater County, Rocky Mountain House and the Village of
Caroline, at a
subsidized rate. There is an initial installation cost and both
this and monthly rental rates are subsidized through government grants,
corporate and private donations.
The Lifeline unit is attached to the client's phone line. A personal help button is worn by the client. In the event of a fall or other need for assistance, a press of the button on the pendant will bring help. Staff at the Lifeline Response Centre are immediately able to converse with the client, through the speaker phone feature on the unit. If they are unable to speak with the client they contact one of the three pre-chosen volunteer responders to go to the client's home and assess the situation. The responder presses the RESET button on the home unit to inform the Respond Centre that help has arrived. The Response Centre then converses with the responder and is able to dispatch additional help, including EMS services, if needed. If you or anyone in your family
needs these type of services, please contact us at:
