One (1) FIT Utility Operator II / Ill
The Town is currently seeking a qualified and capable person to join our team. This position will present the selected individual with a variety of challenges and is suitable for a person who is self-motivated, organized and enjoys working in a team-oriented environment. The Utility Operator II or Ill position is a shared position between the Water Treatment Plant (WTP) and the Operations Department. At the WTP, they will report directly to the Water/Wastewater Treatment Plants Manager, will be required to be on call and will be responsible for the daily operation, repair and maintenance of the Town's Class 3 Water Treatment Plant and Class 1 Wastewater Treatment facility including sample gathering & testing, preventative maintenance and routine checks of all related facilities.
With the Operations Department, they will report directly to the Operations Supervisor and will be responsible for assisting with daily operations, repair and maintenance of the Town's Class II water distribution systems and hydrants; a Class II wastewater collection systems and lift stations; a storm sewer system; and a network of roads, sidewalks and traffic control devices. This may include the supervision of permanent and seasonal staff in a related functions as required.

As a key player in our team you will have the following qualifications:
- Grade 12 diploma;
- Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's License, willing to get Class 3 with Q endorsement;
- Alberta Environmental Protection Certification for Level II in Water Treatment, Level I in Wastewater Treatment, Level II in Wastewater Collection and Level II in Water Distribution Excellent public relations skills, Excellent organizations skills; and
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
