Economic Development Coordinator | Part-time | Posting active until a suitable candidate is found
The Town of Rocky Mountain House is seeking an energetic, dynamic individual to fill the role of a part-time Economic Development Coordinator. The successful candidate will be strongly devoted to public service, be team-orientated, innovative and results-driven. This person will be part of a great team and will be responsible for managing the Rural Renewal Stream Program and assisting with other aspects of economic development for the Town of Rocky Mountain House.

The Rural Renewal Stream supports the attraction and retention of newcomers to rural Alberta through a community-driven approach that supports local economic development needs and contributes to the growth of the community. The Rural Renewal Stream empowers rural communities to recruit and retain foreign nationals to live, work and settle in their communities.
Reporting to the Economic Development Officer, this part-time position will implement, administer and manage the Town of Rocky Mountain House Rural Renewal Stream Program. The position will be the direct contact for business applicants and candidates, providing excellent customer service through timely response and professional communication.
As a key player in our team you will have or be willing to achieve the following qualifications:
- Experience in business administration, economics or marketing,
- Thorough knowledge of the region’s features and stakeholders
- Proven positive track record in dealing with business interests.
- Ability to work effectively with various stakeholders including local businesses and the provincial government
- You will be expected to become educated on the provincial program and able to respond to any questions or inquiries.

Community Peace Officer Level 1 | Full-time/Temporary (1 Year) | Position active until a suitable candidate is found
The Town is seeking an energetic and dynamic individual for the position of Community Peace Officer Level 1. This is a full-time, one-year temporary position with the possibility of extension. The successful candidate will be strongly committed to public service, team-oriented, innovative, and results-driven.
You will be working in a vibrant community of 6,800 residents, located at the doorstep of the Rocky Mountains and surrounded by outdoor adventure opportunities. As a key member of our team, you will either have or be willing to obtain the following qualifications:
- Post-Secondary Education in a related discipline or previous law enforcement experience as a Community Peace Officer is an asset.
- Must meet all requirements of Alberta Justice Solicitor General to acquire Level 1 Community Peace Officer Appointment.
- Must have previous CPO level 1 experience within the last 3 years. Or attended CPOIP for Community Peace Officer Level 1 Training.
- Must have valid PARE or equivalent upon start date.
- Valid Alberta Driver’s License (Minimum Class 5). Must provide current drivers abstract upon employment.
- Must maintain a clear criminal record authorized by the R.C.M.P. or local police agency.
- Previous experience in Bylaw Enforcement, Commercial Vehicle Enforcement and/or Animal Control Enforcement is an asset.
- Animal handling training or certification is an asset.
- EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operations Course) or equivalent is preferred (mandatory completion upon employment)
- Must be willing to do shift work including weekends / holidays.
- Radar / Laser certification is required.
- PPCT certification (Pressure Point Control Tactics) or equivalent control tactics is required.
- OC Spray / Baton certification is required.
- First Aid / CPR certification is required.
- Knowledge of computers / software – Microsoft Office / MOVES/ROADS / Incident Report systems (report exec) is an asset.

Summer Day Camp Leader | Contract - 3 positions | Deadline to apply May 1, 2025
The Town is seeking three energetic, dynamic individuals for the position of Summer Day Camp Leader. The successful candidates will be strongly devoted to public service, be team orientated, innovative and result driven. This person will be part of a great team in ensuring the safety, well-being, and enjoyment of campers from ages 6-11 for the Summer Day Camp program.

- Plan and supervise recreational activities for campers.
- Supervise campers during before and after care.
- Communicate in a professional and timely manner with parents, campers, and staff.
- Adhere to all camp processes and procedures.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.
This position is a full-time 40-hours per week for 9 weeks, contract position from June 27 - August 29, 2025 (Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM)
