The Town is seeking energetic, dynamic individuals for the positions of Summer Labourer (Seasonal) for Parks and Grounds Maintenance. The successful candidates will be strongly devoted to public service, be team orientated, innovative and result-driven. These persons will be part of a great team in providing grass maintenance, gardening, garbage clean up, playground maintenance, line painting, road maintenance and other duties to help make our community look inviting and presentable. Each Summer Labourer will build experience and knowledge in a fun and rewarding work environment.
You will be working in a vibrant community of 6,800 at the doorstep to the Rocky Mountains and outdoor adventure. We have all the amenities and more. Living in Rocky Mountain House you can experience live arts, concerts, all sports or belong to one of the multiple community organizations. Town amenities include the Rocky Regional Recreation Centre, the Credit Union Co-op Aquatic Centre, skateboard park, ball diamonds, parks, extensive trail system and playgrounds. Your co-workers are focused on providing great public service and having fun while doing so.
As a key player in our team you will have or be willing to achieve the following qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in Post Secondary, High school students will be considered if they meet the availability requirements and other qualifications.
- Persons with previous ground maintenance experience would be an asset.
- Must provide a Criminal Record Check and Drivers Abstract.
- Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s licence.
This position is for temporary seasonal work from April 28 to August 29, 2025. Hours are 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. (May be occasionally required to work outside these hours)

Located on Treaty 6 territory, the Town is approximately 50 minutes west of Red Deer, 40 minutes west of Sylvan Lake, and 50 minutes north of Sundre. The Town of Rocky Mountain House is home to 6,800 residents, and is surrounded by Clearwater County.
Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, the Finance Manager will lead a cohesive team of five including a Reception/AR Coordinator, Utility Coordinator/IT Support, AP, Taxation & Cemeteries, and GL/Insurance/GST/Records Management. The overall budget for the Town is approximately $34M.
In addition to direct experience in municipal financial operations, you will possess:
- A post-secondary education in business or accounting. A CPA designation would be an asset.
- 3-5 years of hands-on leadership and management experience.
- Knowledge of GAAP, public sector accounting, and the Municipal Government Act (MGA).
- Proven experience in technical accounting and reporting (i.e., budgeting, year-end, audits, grant management, variance analysis, etc.).
- Solid interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills. Able to work and interact with diverse groups of individuals (internal and external to the organization), professionals, elected officials, and the general public.
- Knowledge of, and experience with, large system financial software….specifically Diamond Municipal Software, Questica (Budgeting), and Caseware (Year End).
- Strong computer skills in excel and word.
